Assumptions used in TCO calculations:

Petrol 131.9 p per litre
Diesel 139.9 p per litre
LPG 98.9 p per litre

Propulsion costs:
These are based on VAT-inclusive pricing.
For cars, propulsion costs are shown on a VAT-inclusive basis.
For vans, propulsion costs are also shown on a VAT-inclusive basis in line with common market presentation.
Hydrogen vehicles: Propulsion costs are not currently included due to limited UK refuelling availability.

This dataset contains the base vehicle information used in the calculations.

MANUFACTURER Vehicle manufacturer.
MODELDESCRIPTION Vehicle model name.
DERIVATIVEDESCRIPTION Full vehicle derivative or trim description.
CO2 COâ‚‚ emissions in grams per kilometre.
FUEL Fuel or propulsion code.
PRICE Base vehicle price excluding delivery.
DELIVERY Manufacturer delivery charge.
UKVATEXCPRICE / UKOTRPRICE Vehicle pricing fields differ between vans and cars.
VED1 First year Vehicle Excise Duty.
REGFEE UK first registration fee.

TERM_MONTHS Term in months.
ANNUAL_MILES Annual mileage assumption.
TOTAL_MILES Total miles across the term.
MILEAGE_BAND CAP mileage band classification.
RV Residual value forecast at the end of the term.
SMR Annual service, maintenance and repair estimate.

Column Description
MILEAGE_BAND_MILES Mileage band expressed in miles.
PROPULSION_CODE Fuel code used in calculations.
PROPULSION_TYPE Human-readable propulsion description.
ENERGY_KWH_TOTAL Total electricity consumption over the term.
ENERGY_COST_TOTAL Electricity cost over the term.
FUEL_MPG Fuel economy used in calculations.
FUEL_LITRES_TOTAL Total litres of fuel consumed over the term.
FUEL_COST_TOTAL Total fuel cost over the term.
PROPULSION_COST_TOTAL Total propulsion cost over the term. Hydrogen vehicles are included in the dataset, but propulsion costs are not currently calculated due to limited hydrogen refuelling availability in the UK.
PROPULSION_PPM Propulsion cost in pence per mile.
DEPRECIATION Vehicle depreciation over the term.
MAINTENANCE Total maintenance cost across the term.
VED_TOTAL Total Vehicle Excise Duty payable over the term.
BIK_TOTAL Total Benefit-in-Kind or van benefit value across the term.
NIC_TOTAL Total employer NIC across the term.
